1401 is a poster–calendar published through Atrough, Studio Melli's print and experimentation platform. The work brings together three calendar systems, solar, Gregorian, and lunar, into a single typographic composition, drawing from the visual language of historical Persian manuscripts, astronomy books, and geometric documents. Numbers, units, columns, and mathematical structures become the material of design: a dense, layered system that is as much a typographic object as it is a functional calendar.
The result is something that operates beyond time, a piece that carries the logic and aesthetics of old Persian books into a contemporary frame. Originally produced as a printed poster, the work has since been realised in various materials as a flag and blanket appearing across different exhibitions and installations.
